Donor Board

The Managing Trustees of Beckenham Methodist Church are extremely grateful to all donors for their great generosity in supporting the church’s redevelopment project, details of the progress of which can be found elsewhere on this site.

Without that support, our investment in buildings, facilities and mission plans for the benefit of the people of Beckenham and beyond simply could not be realised.

We therefore record with gratitude significant grants from:

 Allchurches Trust, owners of the Ecclesiastical Insurance Group and one of the UK’s largest grant-making trusts benefitting churches, charity and community.

The Garfield Weston Foundation, a family-founded grant-making Trust which has been supporting charities across the UK for 60 years.  From small community groups to large national institutions, the Trustees’ aim is to support organisations that have effective solutions to helping those most in need.

The Methodist Insurance Fund

Operating for the wellbeing of the Methodist Church and Methodist charitable causes, Methodist Insurance has been protecting the property of the Methodist Church since 1872.

The Norwood and Newton Settlement

"Grants are awarded to help with building schemes that seek to improve churches' worship, service, mission and growth"

We have also been the beneficiaries of very considerable grants by charitable Trusts and Foundations who prefer to remain anonymous, but who may read this and know that we greatly appreciate the confidence they have placed in our project.

In addition, we would like to acknowledge the strong financial support we have had from our own Bromley Methodist Circuit, providing the largest single contribution of any, and from the London District and Central Connexion of the Methodist Church.

We have further benefitted from:

  • the strong ties with former church members, who have responded so warmly to our request for donations;
  • gifts from friends of members, well-disposed toward the church, who care about the work we do and want to see it succeed and grow; and of course
  • current church members, giving so liberally of their time, effort and financial gifts.

Not least, we should commend Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, whose Gift Aid schemes to foster charitable giving enable us to increase the face value to us of so many personal donations.
